Perranuthnoe Beach is on the south coast of Cornwall, between Penzance and the Lizard, just a 10 minutes drive from us here at the Woodland Collection. The beach is compact and a mix of sand and shingle, but makes a brilliant run around for dogs. It offers great views across Mount’s Bay and is a lovely calm and unspoilt spot to relax. The area is less built up than some of the other beaches in Cornwall, which adds to its appeal for those seeking a quiet spot.
Dogs are welcome on Perranuthnoe Beach for much of the year, with seasonal restrictions in place from 1st July – 31st August (10am – 6pm). Outside of these times this is a fantastic dog friendly beach, particularly in the early morning or evening, it’s definitely one of our favourites.
There is an affordable local-run car park near the beach with toilet facilities available, but parking spaces are limited so it is worth avoiding peak times if you want to get a space. The village has a pub and there are lovely, fairly easy coastal walks in both directions along the coast, including a round route to Prussia Cove. The Cabin is a fantastic dog friendly beach cafe, which overlooks the beach and the bay, we’ve brought our dogs here many times and would highly recommend lunch here!
