Porth Kidney Sands

Porth Kidney Sands is a beautiful stretch of golden sand between Hayle Estuary and Carbis Bay. Due to it’s lack of facilities it is often empty and is a great spot for walking dogs or finding some peace and quiet. At low tide the beach stretches out to create a vast stretch of unspoilt paradise. It’s worth noting that due to the lack of lifeguards and the proximity to currents around the Hayle Estuary, this isn’t the safest beach for swimming.

The beach is Dog Friendly all year round with absolutely no restrictions at all, making this a fantastic place to stop to stretch those doggy paws during the busier summer months. And with few tourists making camp on the beach, you can feel comfortable letting them explore to their hearts content.

Facilities at the beach are limited. There is parking nearby at Lelant but there are no toilets or cafes nearby. You can take the coast path into Hayle or Lelant to find nearby pubs and cafe’s or in the oposite direction, the coast path takes you to Carbis Bay where there are public toilets on the beach.
