Carbis Bay is a sheltered, sandy beach just outside St Ives, known for its pale sand and calm waters. The bay is more protected than many north coast beaches and quieter than bustling St. Ives, making it a perfect getaway beach. It has a relaxed and scenic feel, the perfect spot to slow down and enjoy the moment. The coastal path which links Carbis Bay to St Ives is a popular walking route with its stunning views, and it’s relatively short distance.
Between 15th May and 30th September, from 10am – 6pm, dogs are restricted on Carbis Bay Beach, but outside of these hours, the beach is a haven for dogs with lots of room to roam. The calm water and the relatively contained nature of the beach also make this an ideal spot for more nervous dogs.
Parking can be tricky during busy times as public parking by the beach is limited, but there is a larger car park a short walk away, and the train station is just a short walk away, making it a perfect day trip from the St. Erth park and ride. There are public toilets and a large dog-friendly restaurant/cafe on the beach, with a large veranda perfect for dogs.
