Jubilee Pool is an open air Lido on the seafront in the centre of Penzance. Built in the 30s in a striking white Art Deco style, it is the largest seawater pool in the UK.
A few years ago the pool underwent redevelopment, digging a geothermal well which pumps warm water from underground to heat a small section of the pool. The Geothermal Pool is heated to temperatures up to 30 degrees. The Geothermal pool is closed for most of the winter while the main pool opens sporadically for those brave enough or in possession of a wetsuit.
There is a cafe open all year round, sauna and warm showers. If you don’t feel like swimming, then the cafe has a great view of the sea and there are flat walks in each direction along the coast.
Dogs are allowed on the terrace, shop and cafe, but not in the pool, other than on a designated annual ‘Dog Day’ which usually takes place in November.
Jubilee Pool is about 8 miles away from the Woodland Collection and there is on road parking nearby or a short walk to nearby car parks.
