Helston Railway

Helston Railway runs steam and diesel engines along a short part of the old brand line from the outskirts of Helston towards the town and back. While it’s only a short journey at the moment, there is lots to see and experience and they have plans to expand the route, potentially all the way back to the main line that runs between Penzance and Camborne. As it’s a charity wholly run by local volunteers, all the proceeds from ticket sales go towards preserving the railways history.

The railway runs on a limited timetable. Currently they are closed November, January and February with trains running on Thursdays, Sundays and Bank holiday for the rest of the year with the addition of Wednesday over the summer. Please make sure to check the website before making a trip though.

Dogs are welcome everywhere on site including on the train journey.

The station has free parking and a cafe and it is just 7 miles from the Woodland Collection.
